Gifts & Memorial Donations

Deborah Lee Souther Laughter, of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2009. A native of Hendersonville, she had lived in California and Tennessee before settling down in Edneyville where she and her husband owned and operated their own apple business together. She was the devoted wife of Larry K. Laughter and mother of Christa M. and Matthew K. Laughter and was preceded in death by her mother Lola Randalph Souther, who died in July of 1989 and her father, John Daniel Souther, a Navy veteran who died in July of 1998.

She graduated from West Henderson High School in 1968 and also went on to earn a technical college degree specializing in secretarial skills. She was a loving, caring and giving person who always placed her familyís needs and wants ahead of her own. She was known for her spectacular smile and charismatic personality. She never met a stranger.

She was a fighter who was an inspiration to us all. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

She was a devoted aunt to Michael V. Blackwell, as well as several other very special people who may not be related by blood but will forever be a part of her family. Though she left us too soon, she will forever be in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 4, 2009 at 2pm at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. The Rev. Harold McKinnish will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 3, 2009 from 6pm to 8pm at Shuler Funeral Home.

Debbie/Aunt Debbie was a special friend to all us. In the years we had the priviledge to know Debbie & her family, we knew that she was a genuine person of christian qualities. If all of us had the strength and courage of Debbie this would be a better and kinder world. She was concerned for others before herself. She is in heaven with our Lord. We pray that God will watch over and care for her family. A Beautiful Lady leaves a great legacy. Love to all of you, K, K & L
