Davey “Double D” Dalton, 58, of Hendersonville passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of Eli Dalton of Edneyville and the late Mae “Tootsie” Youngblood Dalton. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Iris “Diddie” Dalton, and granddaughter, Zoey Olivia Grace Dalton.
Davey was employed for 19 years by Cranston Print Works in the Print Shop until the plant closed. He was a self-employed mechanic and Jack of All Trades. Davey was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy Dalton of Hendersonville; daughter, Laura Lynette Dalton of Hendersonville; granddaughter, Shelby Erin Grace Cantrell of Hendersonville; brother, Dwight Dalton of Edneyville and his fiancée, Caroline Tackett; sister, Lisa Taylor & husband, Mike, of Edneyville; sisters-in-law, Glenda M. Pearson of Flat Rock and Jo Whitaker and husband, Charlie, of Fletcher; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The Reverend Don Birchfield will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
