Cynthia Seymour

September 20, 1937 - January 14, 2020

On the morning of January 14, 2020 Cynthia Seymour passed away in her home at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  She attended the University of Nebraska where she met her loving husband, Richard.  Cynthia and Richard recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.  Together they raised two children, Michael and Kelly.

Before selling their business and retiring, Cynthia worked alongside Richard in the operation and management of their pharmaceutical business, based in Michigan.  Throughout her life, Cynthia was a hobbyist, creating beauty for others and for her own home.  Cynthia was a talented seamstress, dabbled in macramé in the 70’s, painted detailed Ukrainian Eggs, cross-stitched detailed wall hangings, and constructed reproductions of 19th century china dolls.  She was a skilled cruciverbalist, even while undergoing chemotherapy Cynthia never missed completing the daily New York Times or Wall Street Journal crossword puzzles.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her son, Michael, her father, Noble, her mother, Mabel, her sister, Sandra, her brother Bradford.  She is survived by her husband, Richard, her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Peter and her two grandsons, Patrick and William.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance!/donation/checkout?c_src=OCRAweb&c_src2=header

Arrangements for Cynthia are in the care of Shuler Funeral Home of Hendersonville, NC, (828) 693-5220.
