Chris Capps, 50, of Hendersonville died unexpectedly on June 16, 2020, at his home.
He was born in Hendersonville NC, the son of Alice Krebs and the late Wayne Capps. Later moving to Rapid City SD where he attended grade school and high school and joined the National Guard where he served for 12 years in Tennessee. He was also blessed with an amazing stepfather, George Krebs, and three stepbrothers, Roger, Scott, and Troy, and a stepsister, Jeannie.
He leaves behind his wife Joy Capps, his daughter Zoe, and son Aubrey who will miss him deeply until they see him again in heaven. Chris was an engaged and supportive dad, husband, and homeschool teacher. He was an industrious provider and protector who often worked multiple jobs. Chris was a very creative Jack of all trades and a master of many of them, especially in the kitchen. He was also an amazing writer and even wrote a children’s book. His friendly demeanor with a touch of humor always made people feel at ease and it was evident to anyone who knew Chris, that his prime focus and passion was for his family.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24th at Mills River Cemetery with Pastor Todd Eaton.

Chris was much more than a brother in law, he was more like a flesh and blood brother to me. We shared so many interests and I looked forward to every chance I had to have a conversation with him. I cried when I heard he had passed. He was way too young, but apparently God needed him for a project in heaven.
