Charlotte Bowman Yingling, 94, of Hendersonville, died Sunday, October 11, at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Chickamauga, GA, she spent her early formative years in Pittsburgh, PA. Charlotte had been a long time resident of Takoma Park, MD prior to moving to Hendersonville in 2004. She began her career as a registered nurse in the operating room of Washington Sanitarium (now Washington Adventist Hospital) and spent time at the National Institute of Health Clinical Center. The majority of her work history was as a Professor of Nursing at Columbia Union College in Takoma Park. She had been a longtime member of Silver Spring, MD Seventh Day Adventist Church. Through volunteer services with the church that spanned many decades, she and her husband traveled the world. She was a member of Mills River Seventh Day Adventist Church and also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Her husband of 57 years, Lloyd Yingling, died in 2014. Mrs. Yingling is survived by two children, Britt Yingling and his wife Lori of Silver Spring, MD and Amy Brady of Fletcher and four grandchildren, Alison Cavazos, Kaitlin Yingling, Christopher Stanley and Benjamin Stanley. A private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Mills River Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School, 2142 Jeffress Rd. Mill River, NC 28759.

Charlotte was a very warm and friendly person. She was very kind and thoughtful of others. She was so sweet. I will really miss her.
