Charles C. Leslie, 86, of East Flat Rock died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the Elizabeth House.

Born in Tryon, NC, he was the son of the late Henry and Dora Leslie. His brother, Haskel Leslie, sister, Juanita Burrell, and son, Michael Leslie preceded him in death.

Charles was an army veteran of World War II in Company “L” 363rd infantry. He was a business owner for 60 years on Kanuga Road. He loved people, loved to play golf, and loved yard work. He was a charter member of the Hendersonville Country Club and past President of the American Legion. He was also one of the original investors in WKIT and Cable TV. Charles was a member of Stoney Mountain Baptist Church and attended until he was unable to do so.

Surviving are his wife, Imogene Leslie; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Leslie; stepdaughter, Carolyn Case and husband, Luke; a stepson, Michael Rhodes; four grandchildren, Donna Herman and her husband, Mark; Tony Leslie and Nicole; Michael Leslie and wife, Pam, and Michelle Koukzian and husband, Pete; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah, Carlye, Alec, Sierra, Aram, Danielle, and Ericka; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Messino and his staff, Care Partners, Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, Dr. Bull, and all of the medical staff that helped us through this difficult and sad time. Also, thanks to all of the guys at Blue Ridge Fire Department for all of your help.

A service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Stoney Mountain Baptist Church. The Reverends Charles Rogers and Thomas Glenn will be in charge of the service. Burial with Military Rites conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14 will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

We will miss Charles; he loved his family very much as we did him. We know he is with all his family, and there is a glad reunion at Heaven’s gate.
