Mr. Charles K. “Charlie” Vaughn, 81, of Hendersonville passed away Friday, December 13, 2019. Charlie was born August 9, 1938 in Greenville, SC, the son of the late William R. and Sallie Allen Vaughn of Travelers Rest, SC. He was a veteran, graduated from Greenville Technical College and had a 36 year career at Lanier Worldwide Inc. in Atlanta, GA. After retiring, his love of helping others led him to volunteer for several years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. In 2005 he and his wife moved to Hendersonville. He became a proud member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church, joined the Hendersonville Shrine Club and developed many cherished friendships in the area. Charlie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Tucker Vaughn; two daughters, Rita Richardson and her husband Bret of Liburn, GA and Scarlett Beary of Gainesville, GA; a sister Ruby and three brothers, Bill, Louis and Doug. Charlie is also the proud grandfather to Amanda and Lauren Richardson and Scott Beary and proud great-grandfather of Gavin and Gauge Richardson and Isabelle and Mason Beary. His family was truly his greatest accomplishment and the true joy of his life.  A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 11, in the main sanctuary of Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Revs. Steve Scoggins, Wally Shamburger and John Rymer will officiate. The family will receive guests at the church following the service.
