Carol Hardy Adams, 75, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Pardee Hospital. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Fleet Kirk and Josephine Reynolds Hardy.
Carol received her Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 1978 and worked as a clinical psychologist until her retirement in 2003. Always the academic, she received her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in 2007. Carol was a gifted poet and writer, loved to garden and cook, and achieved the rank of Bronze Life Master in duplicate bridge.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Butrovich; son, Paul Kirk Adams (Kimberly) of Franklin, Tennessee; brother, Fleet Kirk Hardy, Jr. of Hoover, Alabama; grandsons, Mark Hardy and Christopher Todd Adams; step-granddaughter, Bailey Emerson Spangler; and step-great-granddaughter, Wren Arya Keefer.

I am so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. We were friends while she was in Tuscaloosa studying for her MFA. We spent a lot of time together back then. I’m so sorry for your loss.
