In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Brenda G. Cairnes, age 71 of Mills River, North Carolina, passed away at Four Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina. A native of Henderson County, born May 19, 1950, she was the daughter of the late William Frank Ball and Ruby Myrtle Ball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cairnes, who passed away on June 22, 2006; one grandson, Anthony E. Myers; four brothers, Ervin Ball, Ronnie Ball, Donnie Ball and Charlie Ball; one sister, Susie Morris; and one brother-in-law, Thurman Cairnes.
Brenda, who canned locally grown produce, enjoyed taking what she had canned and selling it at Henderson County Curb Market. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Brenda attended Mills River Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her precious memories are three daughters, Christine Helms (Wayne), Carolyn Revis (Scotty) and Charlene King (Roy); five grandchildren, Chantel Carver (Brian), Kayla Myers, Lori Holbert (Jacob), Andy Duncan (Tela) and Justine Rogers (Jet); and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Henry Ball (Gladys); one sister-in-law, Sadie Cairnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Mills River Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas Glenn officiating. Interment will follow in Sitton-Gillespie Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.

Brenda was one of the best cooks around. It was so nice when she would come to my mom's house for holidays and bring that good food with her! Hoping precious memories of Brenda will help her loved ones through the times of sorry and heart ache.
