Betty Louise Yarborough Henn, 65, crossed over into Glory on Monday, May 31, 2021 at her home with family.
She was born October 10, 1955 to the late George and Iva Yarborough. Betty was preceded in death by her one brother, John Edmonds and is survived by another brother, Howard Yarborough.
Betty was married for 47 years to the love of her life, Charles Henn. They lived in Hoopers Creek, and she was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher of Hoopers Creek Baptist Church. Betty loved gospel music. She also loved the children’s and youth choirs at the church and consistently supported WGCR in Pisgah Forest and WKJV in Asheville. She, alongside Charles, owned and operated Henn’s Plant Farm for 41 years.
Betty volunteered with many programs through the American Cancer Society, including Relay for Life, and she worked with the organization Women Helping Women for many years. She enjoyed helping other women in their cancer battle even while in the middle of her own fight. Betty started battling breast cancer in 1995 , and then throughout the years battled leukemia, another bout of breast cancer and then pancreatic cancer. After over two decades of fighting, she has finally won the battle and is eternally healed.
Betty was a loving mother, grandma and friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Alice Welch and Bryan Henn (Canissa), and grandchildren: Samantha, Jacob, Annabelle, Brianna, Sarabeth and Courtney.
Homegoing services will be a graveside at 4pm Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. A celebration dinner will follow with friends and family at the Hooper Creek Baptist Church’s homecoming building.
