Betty Joyce Creasman Camp, 82, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 29, 2019. A native and lifelong resident of Mills River, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Columbus and Maebell Case Creasman and wife of the late Curtis Dean Camp who passed away May 15, 2017. She had worked for Eaton Corp. for 23 years. Following retirement from Eaton, she received her Associate Degree in Travel and Tourism from Blue Ridge Community College and worked for Wilcox World Travel and Tours. She attended Fanning Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Camp is survived by three daughters, Teresa Morgan (Ray), Deana Dixon (Troyce) and Melissa Case (Mark); six grandchildren, Stephen Morgan (Amy), Ashley Abercrombie (Randall), Ken Dixon (Jen), Kyle Dixon, Justin Case (Daralyn) and Lukas Case; nine great-granchildren, Chase, Halle, Hunter, Kaden, Liam, Rosie, Mason, Kallie and Nora; a brother, Bill Creasman (Freida) and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held 3pm Sunday, September 1, at Fanning Chapel United Methodist Church in Mills River. Rev. Michael Phipps and Mr. Bill Creasman will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fanning Chapel Cemetery Fund, 5490 Old Haywood Rd. Mills River, NC 28759 or to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731.
