Alice Marie Drummond, 104, of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Carolina Village.  She was born in Woolstock, IA to the late Leonard G. Gartner and Jessie Fern Stimmel Gartner.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor Drummond; brothers, John Gartner, Harold Gartner, Paul Gartner; sisters, Ruth Reibsamen, Mildred Wells, and Dorothy Lamkin.
Before living in Hendersonville, she resided in Detroit, MI, Cleveland, OH, Phoenix, AZ, and Burnsville, NC.  Alice received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and worked as a Public Health Nurse.  She was a member of the Higgins Memorial United Methodist Church in Burnsville, NC and was a member of PEO.  Alice was also a volunteer for the Methodist Church and many community organizations.  She was an award-winning weaver, an avid bridge player, loved crafts, and flower gardening.  She also enjoyed world-wide travel.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Phillenore Howard and her husband Robert E. Howard of Silver City, New Mexico; sons, Victor Drummond of Franklin, NC, David Drummond and his wife Olga of Ann Arbor, MI, and Robert J. Drummond of Burnsville, NC; grandchildren, Vickie Reddington-DuQuet and Robert A. Drummond; great grandson, Thomas Reddington.
Arrangements are being handled by Shuler Funeral Home and are private. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2022, in Burnsville, NC.  The family is grateful for the loving care and support of Tracy Holz and the staff of the Carolina Village Care Center.
