Aileen G. Moore, 74, of Hendersonville, NC died, Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2020 with her family by her side after an extended illness in the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.
Mrs. Moore was born on Monday May 7, 1945 in Henderson County, NC to the late Luna and Betty (Norton) Gosnell. She attended Edneyville High School and was a faithful member of Mountain Home Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
On November 28, 1964 in Spartanburg, SC as the former Aileen Gosnell she married her loving husband of 55 years, Mr. Billy R. Moore, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Patsy A. Messer and her husband, James of Hendersonville, NC and a son, Robert Moore and his wife, Kimberlee of Charleston, SC. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Karen Landert, Jamie Messer, Nicholas Moore and Jacob Moore and his wife Ashley; two brothers, Ross Gosnell and his wife, Sue and Ronald Gosnell and his wife, Peggy; two sisters, Francis Anderson and Edith Hill; special niece, Cindy Heatherly and two dear friends, Cathey Hyder and Sheryl Parrish. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Tennie Morgan and her brother, Floyd “Butterhead” Gosnell.
A funeral to celebrate Mrs. Moore’s life will be held two o’clock Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2020 at Mountain Home Baptist Church, 21 Little Creek Road, Hendersonville, NC, 28792 with Rev. Gary Wayne Morgan and Rev. Craig Garren officiating. Mrs. Moore will be laid to rest in the church graveyard. The family will receive guests from 12:00 noon until 1:45 pm in the church sanctuary.
Memorial contributions may be offered on behalf of Mrs. Moore to the Mountain Home Baptist Church Building Fund, Post Office Box 288, Edneyville, NC, 28727.
Aileen will be forever missed by her loving and devoted husband, family and many dear friends.
