Sharon “Sherry” Marie Cagle went to be with Jesus following a very brief illness on Thursday, August 31st 2017. Sherry was loved by all who knew her. She had a contagious smile that would light up a room. Sherry had many disabilities and was confined to a wheelchair with limited use of her body, but this never stopped her from doing the things she loved. She was very social. She loved God, her very large extended family, and her friends. She attended East Henderson High School where she was blessed with some amazing teachers in the Special Education program. She then attended Hope Academy, a special needs activity center at Mud Creek Church and cheered for Hope Elite Cheerleading (a special needs all-star cheer team). Sherry always wanted to live independently, but that seemed like an impossible task with her disabilities. After a lot of searching, we found the perfect fit- a group home in Shelby, NC where she resided for the last 2 years. She loved living there and felt very independent. She had amazing staff that gave her excellent care while allowing her to maintain as much independence as possible. Â She loved spending time with her friends. She loved going to church, movies, all different kinds of music, wrestling and anything related to Duke University.
As saddened as we are that she is no longer with us, we know that she is with our Lord and Savior and she is healed- no longer confined to a body with disabilities. We look forward to seeing her again.

“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.” Philippians 3:20-21
