Mavis Maxine Smith, 79, of Hendersonville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. She was the wife of the late Rev. Willard Kimsey Smith and the daughter of the late Ila M. Hyder and James Paul Hoots. She was also preceded in death by three children, Robert Kimsey, Wilma Annette and Kevin Willard Smith; two brothers, Boyce Hoots and Larry Hoots.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Lighthouse Community Church and loved the Lord. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and ministering to others. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her five children, Horace Curtis Smith and wife Hester of AR, Darrell Edward Smith and wife Ginny of SC, Doris Darlene Smith of Hendersonville, Rodger Devon Smith of Hendersonville, Kathy Denise Smith of Hendersonville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Dickerson of Edneyville and Brenda Gordon and husband Robert of Dana; two brothers, Roland Hoots and wife Lois of Flat Rock and Noel Hoots and wife Mary Ruth of Mountain Home.

A graveside service will be held 2pm Monday, November 14, 2016 at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Craig and Rev. Ronney Hollifield officiating.
