Laura was a native of Hendersonville and daughter of the late William Wiley and Fannie Sue Dermid Roberts and attended Hendersonville High School. In 1967, Laura along with her husband founded Cooper Construction Company, a 50-year-old third generation general contracting firm. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hendersonville for over 40 years.

She is survived by her sons, Tom and wife Marie, Jeff and wife Lynn and Mike and wife Pam Cooper, all of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Brad, Zach, Lane and Greg Cooper, Kelly Ford, Krystal Horan, Marci Raniszeski and Kerra Johnson; sister, Betty Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2pm with Rev. Steve Scoggins officiating.

    Alton Connor says:
My dear friends ~ My heart breaks with each of yours as you have had to say good-bye for now to your precious Mom just days after your Dad's passing. Laura was without a doubt one of the most precious people I have ever known ~ she was my "second Mother" and she often told me that I was her fourth son. I loved Laura dearly and though I am sad that she is not with us for this temporary period, my heart is thankful that her pain and suffering are over and that she is now at Home with the Lord and with a healed body! My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy are with you all! Love each of you, Alton

Laura and I attended HHS together...and in fact ... seated right next to her. She was an excellent student and a wonderful class-mate. She gave her life to her family and to the forming of Cooper Construction Co. Rest in peace, Laura. GOD-BLESS.

Precious Laura Cooper and Tommy. They always provided warm smiles and hugs to my family. I’m so thankful that heaven is a reality and as I told Brad, I can imagine Tommy’s big smile as e heaven. My love and prayers to the Cooper family whom I love so much.
